Premier League predictions, football

Everton to beat Norwich @ 3/5

The Canaries are again struggling to make the step up to the Premier League from the Championship. Manager Daniel Farke was not helped by a difficult fixture schedule in the first few weeks of the season but losing to Watford had alarm bells ringing and five straight defeats by an aggregate score of 14-2 is obviously a worry. Everton have scored six goals in home wins over Southampton and Burnley and are fancied for another victory at Goodison Park.

Leeds and West Ham to draw @ 13/5

The Whites have yet to really get going this term but have only lost to Manchester United and Liverpool in five Premier League outings. Leeds have drawn their other three top-flight fixtures and we feel another stalemate is on the cards when they entertain West Ham. The Hammers were left wondering what might have been following a 2-1 loss to the Red Devils, with Mark Noble’s injury-time penalty saved. On the plus side, they were unbeaten in four previous league games and now have Michail Antonio back from suspension.

Leicester to beat Burnley @ 8/15

A trip to in-form Brighton looked a tough way to end a European week and so it proved as Leicester suffered a third loss of the campaign. However, the Foxes should be better prepared for this contest and can even up the win column, having already beaten Wolves and Norwich. Only Norwich have made a worse start to the season than Burnley and Sean Dyche’s men have picked up just one point from their first five matches, scoring only three goals being their biggest issue.

Watford to beat Newcastle @ 7/5

It felt like a long time between victories for Xisco Munoz’s side as three straight Premier League defeats followed their opening-day success over Aston Villa. That all changed last weekend, though, as they recorded a 3-1 victory away at Norwich, where last season’s 13-goal hero Ismaila Sarr bagged himself a brace. Newcastle have only two points to show from their opening five games and this season is already looking like a long slog for survival for the Magpies.

Liverpool to win at Brentford @ 5/11

The Reds have only dropped two points from their first five top-flight fixtures and that was when drawing with fellow high-flyers Chelsea. In the other games, Liverpool have brushed aside Norwich, Burnley, Leeds and Crystal Palace by an aggregate score of 11-0. Newly-promoted Brentford will be delighted with eight points so far after last weekend’s 2-0 win at Wolves and have Ivan Toney in terrific form, but the champions from two seasons ago are rated a class apart in our Premier League predictions.
